The Top 10 Benefits My Coaching Clients Say They Receive

Definition of Coaching

  • Coaching: Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process
that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential
  • A professional coaching relationship: A professional coaching relationship exists when
coaching includes a business agreement or contract that defines the responsibilities of each party.
  • An ICF Professional Coach: An ICF Professional Coach also agrees to practice the ICF Professional
Core Competencies and pledges accountability to the ICF Code of Ethics.

In order to clarify roles in the coaching relationship, it is often necessary to distinguish between the client and
the sponsor. In most cases, the client and sponsor are the same person and therefore jointly referred to as the
client. For purposes of identification, however, the International Coach Federation defines these roles as follows:

  • Client: The "client" is the person(s) being coached.
  • Sponsor: The "sponsor" is the entity (including its representatives) paying for and/or arranging for
coaching services to be provided.

In all cases, coaching engagement contracts or agreements should clearly establish the rights, roles, and
responsibilities for both the client and sponsor if they are not the same persons.

From the Code of Ethics approved by the ICF Board of Directors on December 18, 2008.

1. You'll set far better goals that motivate you in a healthy way:

"One of the things I like best about Jim Vuocolo is his laugh.  I sometimes (often?) take life too seriously.  He’s helped me with that.  He has a way of asking questions that helps me look at my circumstances from another perspective, one that is lighter, not so serious.  His questions help me get un-stuck.  And his wonderful, accepting laugh reminds me that life is good... He’s a slave driver – the homework, the goal setting, the relentless questions to which he insists on having answers, the note-taking.  I am so grateful. These things all helped me learn to be a better, more focused problem-solver. And for every problem I presented, he somehow reached inside me to help me find my own solution.

I came away from every coaching call feeling capable. We worked on priorities, balance, centering, boundaries, having plan B if plan A didn’t work out.  He suggested books to read, quoted sources, gave me comparable examples. Made me KNOW I was extremely competent and extremely capable, and with better focus and problem solving, I could be extremely successful.  What more could you want from a coach?!"

Dallas Independent School District

2. You'll accomplish goals and tasks and projects much more quickly:

"Without question if you do not want to change and (wish to) keep your life the same, do not hire James Vuocolo as your personal coach. Your life will change
in such a way you won't even notice it at first. Three months later you will have changed  considerably. Main reason is that he cares. Second reason is he gets you laughing in the process which makes it very enjoyable along the way."

- Sam Lombardo, President of Work Life, Ohio

"You gave us all some fantastic new tools - and the fun part is,
  I didn't expect it!"

 - Dorothy Johnson, University of Redlands, CA

3. You'll make fewer mistakes in your business and personal life:

"I am writing to thank you for the insight and focus your coaching has generated ... From the start, I was impressed with the Assessment Reports. They were strikingly accurate and saved us a lot of time in 'getting to know each other'. It
is clear that they also enable you to provide coaching advise consistent with my motivations and personality. Whether you are offering guidance on work, team building, family relationships, time management, thesis writing, ADD or fee
negotiation, you have been supportive, direct, concise and practical. I am totally committed to the coaching process. I feel as though I have found in coaching a whole new resource.  More importantly, I have found the right coach.
